Accommodation and food on the trek
Most of the guest houses, hotels and tea houses in this area are very basic and provide minimum comfort.The bathrooms are communal with no toilet paper and in some of the hotels hot water is limited.Restaurants and hotels serve mostly vegetarian meals, the most popular dish is Dal Bhat (steamed rice and lentil soup that is generally served with vegetables), but you can also find dishes with beef or chicken.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Permit
All trekkers in Nepal must acquire the Trekkers’ Information Management Systems (TIMS) Card. The TIMS Card is mandatory to ensure the safety and security of trekkers in the general trekking areas. In addition to the TIMS Card, you also need a to get a ACAP permit to do the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek.A copy of your passport and two passport-size photographs are required to obtain a TIMS Card and ACAP permit.

Private and Group Trek
We organize group and private trek to Ghorepani Poon Hill. The bigger your group, the more discount you can get. We handle all group sizes and assign one assistant guide for a group of 12 or more trekkers. Each group will lead by a guide and porters.We assign one porter for every two trekkers. The luggage weight limit is 9 kg per trekker. Hence, a porter will not carry more than 18 kg of combined weight.

Communication on Poon Hill Trek
During the Poon Hill Trek, you can use the internet at lodges/tea houses for an extra cost. However, at high altitudes, we will communicate using the phone. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Difficulty and Preparation
Poonhill is an easy grade trek. You need to walk generally 4 to 5 hrs a day, taking regular breaks enjoying stunning mountain views. Ghorepani trek trail ascend and descend fairly. So you need to have an average physical fitness and strong determination. Some days may require longer waking hours.Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood disease should inform us before booking the trek.

Drive by bus and car or flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara
The distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is just 210 Km (130 mi), so the bus travel time is around 6 to 7 hours.The hilly road from Kathmandu to Pokhara is quite dangerous with many curves and old trucks overtaking buses and cars at high altitude.On the top of it, the buses are old and can break down at any time and make your travel time even longer.If you can, you should definitely take a 45 min flight. Even though it’s more expensive than the bus, you will be safer and save your precious time.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu(1350m)
Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport and you will pick up and  transfer to hotel. You will have free day in the afternoon. Stay night in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu  City Tour
Breakfast and you will visit an important heritage and historical sites in Kathmandu city tour with good speaking english guide. The sightseeing spots are Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath stupa, Kathmandu durbar square and Monkey temple. Spend night in Kathmandu hotel.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (850m, 200km, 6 hours)
Early in the morning, guide will pick up and drive to Pokhara. You will reach to Pokhara in six to seven hour and visit around Phewa lakeside. Spend night in Pokhara hotel.
Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul(1070m, 45km, 2 hours) and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m, 7km, 2-3 hours)
Early morning take breakfast and drive to Nayapul. It takes about one and two hour in a private vehicle.  You will start the trek from Nayapul. The route is first gentle slow ascending up to Birethanti and steeply up from there by passing modi river.  Stay overnight at Tikhedhunga.
Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2850m, 17km, 7-8 hours)
After breakfast you will start the journey to Ghorepani through passing the dense rhododendron forests. You will have take lunch at Ulleri with viewing the  wonderful Himalayan Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna and Himchuli mountains. Stay overnight at Ghorepani.
Day 06: Ghorepani to Tadapani (2660m, 15km, 4-5 hours) via Poon Hill (3210m)
Early morning wake up and walk to Poon hill to witness the enthralling vista of sunrise with viewing mountian ranges Mt Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Machhauchhare, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri and Annapurna South and hike back to Ghorepani. Breakfast and you will follow the trail through the beautiful village of Tadapani. Spend overnight at Tadapani lodge.
Day 07: Tadapani to Ghandruk (2090m, 8km, 4 hours)
You will follow the trail steeply downhill from Tadapani to Ghandruk takes approx. 4 hours. You will closest views of Annapurna and Machhauchhare with celebrating Gurung culture and traditions. Stay overnight at Ghandruk. 
Day 08: Ghandruk to Pokhara ( 7km, 3-4 hours trek and 45km, 2 to 3 hours drive)
Breakfast and you will leads downhill trek for three to four hours to reach Nayapul. You will back to Pokhara by using private transport. And you will celebrate the night at Pokhara hotel.
Day 09: Pokhara to Chitwan by tourist bus ( 415m, 125km, 5 hours)
Breakfast and you will take bus from Pokhara tourist bus Station to Chitwan National park. You will pick up at Chitwan tourist bus park and transfer to your hotel. You will refreshment and give information about the Jungle wildlife adventure. Stay at Chitwan Hotel.
Day 10: Chitwan National Park Tour
After breakfast, you will be start your activities likes Jungle walking, canoeing in Rapati River. At afternoon you will back to hotel and take lunch. Again, you can enjoy Elephant bath and jungle safari on the back of elephant. Stay night in Chitwan.
Day 11: Chitwan to Kathmandu by tourist Bus (175km, 5 to 6 hours)
Early morning you will head for the bird watching after that take breakfast at hotel. Then you  will drive back to Kathmandu. You can utilize the afternoon with your friend member and shopping.
Day 12: Kathmandu Airport.
Breakfast and free day on your own until airport time. You will departure for your final onwards flight.

Best Season for trekking Ghorepani Poon Hill
The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek can be done all year round, however it’s easier when there isn’t rain or snow on the trails.So, the best time to do the Poon Hill trek is from March to June and September to December. In these months, the weather is clearer and the temperature moderate, when only the morning and evenings are a bit chilly, leaving the days perfectly clear for splendid views of the mountains.

Altitude Sickness
The Ghorepani Poon hill trek has a very low chance of altitude sickness. The highest point is Poon Hill at 3250 meters high. Here you might experience some mild symptoms like being tired and more easily out of breath. However, as you will descend to lower altitudes on the same day this should not pose a problem. 

Passport and Visa
All foreigners except Indian nationals need a visa to enter Nepal. You can get an on-arrival visa at Tribhuvan International Airport or Nepal border regional offices. For a visa application, you need a passport valid for at least six months, a passport size photo, and visa application fees.The current visa cost for 30 days is US$50 which you have to pay in USD cash. Children under the age of 10 will get a free visa. Chinese citizens and citizens of SAARC countries:Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka get a free visa.The citizen of Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan will not get visa on arrival in Nepal.

Tipping in Nepal
Nepali culture accepts tipping and views it as proof of good service. However, tipping is at the traveler’s discretion and should reflect the quality of service provided.We advise you to tip at the end of the trek.

Money Matter
Nepali Rupees (NPR/Rs) is the local currency and 1 USD =Rs 120 NPR.You can exchange most foreign currencies in banks and other financial institutions or money exchanges in Kathmandu or Pokhara. Money exchanges display exchange rates visibly for the public.

Please note that only Indian Rupee Notes (INR) of 100 and 2000 denominations are legal in Nepal. We recommend you to bring cash and exchange them for Nepali Rupees at money exchanges instead of traveler's Cheque are not accepted now in Nepal.You can also withdraw cash in Nepalese Rupees using your credit/debit card from ATMs in Kathmandu or Pokhara. You can withdraw up to Rs. 35,000 for a fee of Rs 500. Most banks in Asia do not accept old, torn and faded foreign currency notes so bring clean new notes.

Travel Insurance 
Travel insurance is compulsory for Poon Hill Trek. Though this is an easy trek with low risk of AMS. However, this mountain journey is not a normal visit due to the possibility of unforeseen or unexpected events such as injury, illness, flood, landslide and sudden climate changes.All trekkers must provide a copy of their comprehensive travel insurance policy certificate. The policy must cover medical and emergency repatriation - including helicopter rescue and evacuation expenses at high altitudes. We kindly request you to send your detailed insurance policy copy before trekking departures. In case of emergencies, we will use the documents you sent us for rescue. It will help us arrange a quick and effective rescue operation, transfer for emergency medical help, etc. Please make sure with the insurance company that they cover helicopter evacuation at high altitude trek along with medical costs. 

Expenses of Personal Nature
Our package does not include meals and accommodation costs in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Moreover, all our valuable clients need to bring personal spending money to cover visa fee, travel insurance policy purchase, beverages, snacks for the trek, hot (tea/coffee) and cold drinks, tips to guide and porter, souvenirs and so on. We recommend you to bring cash in major currencies which you can easily exchange for rupees in Nepal. Poon Hill Trek accept only Nepalese currency.

Water and Electricity
Electricity is available for camera and mobile battery recharge at an extra cost. You can buy either packed mineral water from local lodges and en route shop or fill your water bottle with boiled water at an extra cost. If you require, we can provide you with water purification pills. You shouldn't drink water from rivers, taps and wells in trek as the water might not be drinkable.

Solo Travelers-Single travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and single travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.

Minimum Age-You must be 18 to travel unaccompanied on a our tour. For minors travelling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age is 12.
