Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular treks in the Annapurna region. We trek through rice paddies, lush rhododendron forests and high altitude landscapes with the Mt Annapurna range looming in front of you most of the times. The Annapurna Base Camp trek is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary trek because we trek along the protected areas trail. Annapurna Base Camp is a shorter and cheaper alternative to the Everest Base Camp trek.

The Annapurna Base Camp is surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the world like Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna South (7219 m), the fishtail Machapuchhre (6993 m), and Hiunchuli (6441 m). There are different trek route to Annapurna Base Camp and the duration is between 6 and 12 days. Trekking permits for Annapurna Base Camp
Two permits-TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) and ACAP-a Entry Permit for the Annapurna Conservation Area are required for ABC trek. The permits are checked along the way.We handle and organize your trekking permit once you book the trip with us.The permit is only valid for a single entry into the park.

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara, Drive to Motkyu and trekking to Chhomrong(2170 m, 19km, 6/7 hours).
In the early morning, after breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Kathmandu airport to take flight to Pokhara. After 25-30 minutes of domestic flight, we land at Pokhara from where we hire a jeep drive to Motkyu enjoying the green rolling hills and sparkling silver mountain range. The trek from Motkyu continues through the thin forest, terraced farmland and heads to Jhinu Danga crossing a long suspension bridge over Modi Khola. At Jhinu, we take our lunch and then resume the journey to Chhomrong tracing the steep up staircase. Overnight, stay at Chhomrong.
Day 2: Chhomrong to Himalaya(2920 m, 15km, 6-8 hours).
After delightful breakfast at Chhomrong, we drop down through the longest stone-stair to Chhomrong Khola, cross the suspension bridge and ascend towards a small village Sinuwa walking through the stone-stair along terraced farmland and green hills. Sinuwa is a tiny village on the ridge which offers the spectacular close-up view of Mt. Fishtail and wondrous scenery. From Sinuwa, the trail descends to another village Bamboo and then ascends to Dovan through the dense bamboo, rhododendron and Oak forest from where we walk through the Modi Khola Valley and reach at Himalaya hotel. The village is the vantage place which offers the perfect view of Mt. fishtail. Overnight, stay at Himalaya hotel.
Day 3: Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp(4130m,12 km, 6-8 hours)
Today, we trek to ABC from Himalaya hotel. At first, the trail inclines for about half an hour to Hinku Cave from where we descend down, cross the Modi Khola stream and reach Deurali. The trail from Deurali to MBC is uphill-downhill and straight; but in some places there is high risk of avalanche. From Deurali, walk carefully through the pastureland and boulders along the Modi Khola, cross a small bridge and climb to MBC. From MBC, the trail climbs up to ABC witnessing the 360-degree sensational view of numerous snow-clad peaks including Annapurna III, Machhapuchre, Gangapurna, Gandharva Chuli, Annapurna south, etc. After 1-2 hours of climb from MBC, we reach at ABC (4,130m on the lap of Mt. Annapurna (8,091m/26,554ft). Overnight, stay at Annapurna Base Camp.
Day 4: Annapurna Base Camp-Sinuwa/Bhunwa(4130m,24km, 8-10 hrs)
We wake up early in the morning and make ourselves ready for the sensational view of sunrise over Mt. Annapurna. If you are a professional mountain photographer, get the camera gears within your reach for capturing the spectacular dawn and golden rays of light. After enjoying the mesmerizing moment at ABC, take delightful breakfast and trek down to Bamboo retracing the previous trodden trails. From Bamboo, we walk through dense forest for couple of hours to reach at Sinuwa for tonight’s shelter.
Day 5: Sinuwa/Bhunwa to Pokhara(2100m, 7 to 9 hours)
After early morning breakfast, we descend down to Chhomrong through dense forest and staircase; cross suspension bridge over Kimrong Khola and again climb steep stone staircase. The trail from Chhomrong to Siwai is steep along Modi Khola, and drive back to Pokahra by bus or jeep sharing with other people.

Accommodation on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek
This is a classic tea house trek, accommodation in the tea houses.Rooms with 2 beds and dorm room with 3 to 6 beds. The toilet and bathroom is common. Hot shower and internet available, you need to pay an extra cost.
Food on the ABC trek
The food on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is similar to other treks in Nepal. The menu is very similar everywhere like porridge, boiled eggs,breads, Chapati or an omelet for breakfast and dal, pasta or fried rice, potato, noodle, soup, pizza for lunch or dinner.

When To Trek Annapurna Base Camp
The best time to trek the Annapurna Base Camp is during the shoulder seasons of either April - May (Spring) or October - November (Autumn) which are considered to be pre-monsoon and before winter respectively. The weather is mildly hot during the day while hiking and cold at night depending on the altitude. There is also less chance of rain during this time and you will like to get clear days consecutively which is perfect for hiking.
