Everest Base Camp Trek 9 days is a guided tea house trek to Everest Base Camp without any rest days. The trek is not much challenging but you need to be supper fit to complete EBC trek in 9 days. Previous trekking experience and mountaineering skill is helpful. The hardest part of the trek high altitude and the effect that it can have on your body.We recommend undertaking a gym training, practice hiking and jogging in the morning before joining our short 9 day Everest Base Camp/EBC trek.
A good signal of communication network along the trail to Everest Base Camp is available. You can get Wi-Fi access at Namche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep and Lukla, but it may charge a cost for its use. We recommend to buy Ncell sim card and internet data package in Kathmandu before trekking to Everest Base Camp. Along the trail, there has a nice signal and network coverage except Pangboche and Debuche.
Autumn and Spring is the best time of year trek to Everest Base Camp. As there will much traffic of trekkers on the trail during this season. The weather is stable and dry. The mountain is most colorful, and trails are covered by rhododendrons in Spring. The weather is crystal clear, always blue sky and star in the sky, very good view of the Himalayas. The temperature is moderate level neither too cold nor hot. Sunny day while trekking in Autumn. Winter months like December-January and February is still possible, but be prepared for temperatures below freezing. Summer is known as rainy-monsoon season. The trails are very wet and trekking in June to August is not advised.
Day 1: Kathmandu to Lukla Scenic Flight (35 m) and short trek to Monjo (2600m, 12 km, 4 hours).
Early morning pick up from hotel and drive to airport to get a flight to Lukla that is 35 minutes minutes scenic flight to Lukla. Today trek to Pkhading which will take around 3-4 hours.
Day 2: Monjo to Namche Bazaar(3,450m, 12 km, 6 hrs).
Breakfast and trek towards Namche Bazaar following the Dudh Koshi River enter the Sagarmatha national park and register our trekking permit to Jorsalle. Trek steep uphill to Namche after Lunch. Namche bazzar is the largest settlement of Sherpa community of Everest region and also well known as a mini Thamel.
Day 3: Namche Bazzar to Pangboche(3990 m, 18km, 5/6 hrs walk).
Today trek up to Pangboche which is known for the excellent view of Ama Dablam valley with Everest skyline. First we have a gentle walk and descend to Lunch plance and then trek steep uphill to Pangboche.
Day 4: Pangboche to Thukla(4620 m, 18 km, 6/7 hour).
Breakfast and uphill trek to Thukla for 6/7 hours through narrow valley of Pheriche past the terraced fields, passing the many walls and splendid surrounded Himalayas range.
Day 5: Thukla to Gorakshep(5170 m) and Everest base camp(5364m, 18 km, 5/6 hours)
Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and trek steep uphil for 45 minutes to the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier by passing Scott Fischer memorials and Babu Chiri Sherpa memorialm and gentle walk to Lobuche. Have a cup of tea and contiue trek Gorkasep for 3 to4 hours. Have lunch there and further trek to Everest Base camp through the rocky dunes, glacier moraine and glacier stream. Explore around Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep for overnight stay.
Day 6: Gorakshep to Periche(4,250m, 20km, 7 hrs)
Wake up early in the moring, hike to Kalapattharto see the outstanding view of the sunrise over The Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Cho Oyu and Lhotse, When sunlight strikes to white lofty peaks the entire color changes from white to orange. After enjoying the beautiful view from Kalapathar and return back to Gorekshep for breakfast. Continue downhill trek to Pheriche or Pangboche.
Day 7: Pheriche to Namche(3,45m, 20km, 7 hours)
Today trek back to Namche Bazaar which may take us about 7 hours. Walk around Namche bazaar market.
Day 8: Namche to Lukla(2,850m, 18km, 6 hrs).
Breakfast and trek for 7 to 8 hours downhill trek to Lukla via Phaking. Rest of day free time on your own to explore the Lukla and have some good americano and go to coffee shop at the nice restaurants and in the evening we will have a farewell dinner together with our crew from Lukla.
Day 9: Lukla to Kathmandu.
Breakfast and get a short scenic flight back to Kathmandu. The trip ends. Explore Kathmandu on your own.
