Trekking from Dhulikhel to Namobuddha is the best day treks in Kathmandu. Namobuddha trek begins from Dhulikhel, 2 hours drive from Kathmandu that covers 32 km. Dhulikhel is a small Newari town with old houses and temples. It is also the best vantage point to see mountain peaks. Once we walk around old Dhulikhel town and temple, we walk to Namobuddha for 3 to 4 hours via Kali temple offers the best Himalayan range, the valley and countryside, terraced landscapes to Namobuddha. After lunch we trek for an hour downhill to the ending point of the trek and we then drive back to Kathmandu for 2 hours. March to May and September to June are the best time for this day hiking. It is also possible to do Dhulikhel Namobuddha Trek but everyday rainfalls may disturb your day hiking.The mountain views is not clear, it is almost under the clouds. You don't need hiking permit for this day trip. Yet, the local government charge 365 rupees per person to go to Nagarkot and 500 rupees for Changunarayan Temple. On the other hand, Nepali hikers can hike without a permit to that places.
