March to May and September to June are the best time for this day hiking. It is also possible to do Sankhu Nagarkot hiking but everyday rainfalls may disturb your day hiking.The mountain views is not clear, it is almost under the clouds. Hiking Permit Cost
You don't need hiking permit for this day trip. Yet, the local government charge 365 rupees per person to go to Nagarkot and 500 rupees for Changunarayan Temple. On the other hand, Nepali hikers can hike without a permit to that places.
