Tsedang Samye Tour explores Lhasa, Samye and Tsedang monastery in Tibet. Tsedang is the place where Tibetan civilization is said to be origin. Tsedang is also a core place of Tibet civilization. There are a lot of historical interests places around Tsedang. These places are Samye monastery, Mindroling and Trundruk monasteries, and also first Palace in Tibet named Yumbulakang is also famous. After Samye and Tsedang tour, we continue overland tour to Kathmandu visiting Namsto lake, Yamdrok Lake, Gyantse, Shigatse and Everest Base Camp.

This is a unique tour in Tibetthat explores Tibetan civilization and highland scenery of lakes, pasture, cities and monasteries. During 15 days Samye Tsedang Tour, we first visit Samye Monastery and Tsedang monastery. This is a testimony of the acceptance of Buddhism in Bon dominated Tibet. We then come to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet and spend 3 days walking around Lhasa tour.

Day 01: Kathmandu to Lhasa (3650m) and drive to Tsedang(3600m, 100km)
Upon arrival we meet you at Lhasa airport and drive to Tsedang (3600 m / 100km) by suitable vehicle and Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Tsedang to Samye( 3700m, 60km)
Morning visit Yumbulakhang, Tandruk and Yogi Padmasambhawa and drive to Samye in the afternoon. Overnight at Guest House.
Day 03: Samye to Lhasa (3650m, 160km)
Visit Samye Monastery, the first monastery in Tibet and drive back to Lhasa in the afternoon. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 04: Lhasa Tour
After breakfast in the morning, Visit Potala Palace and in the afternoon, Visit Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazzar.
Day 05: Lhasa Tour
Morning visit Drepung Monastery and in the afternoon visit Sera Monastery.
Day 06: Lhasa Tour
Free day for personal activities and explore Lhasa on your own.
Day 07: Lhasa - Tsurphu (4480m) and Namtso Lake (4730m/ 260km)
After breakfast drive to Tsurphu (65km) and visit Tsurphu Monastery and scenic drive through an excellent road to Namtso lake, the highest and biggest salt lake in the world. Explore the lake, good chances to see the Nomads. Overnight at Tented guest house.
Day 08: Namtso to Lhasa
Explore and hike near lake, drive back to Lhasa.
Day 09: Lhasa to Gyantse(3950m/270km)
Drive to Gyantse via colourful Yamdrok Lake(4488m),Khamba la(4794m ) and Karo la (5,010m).
Day 10: Gyantse - Xigatse (3900m/90km.)
Morning visit Phalkor Choide, Kumbum and drive to Xigatse, Visit Panchen Lama's Tashilumpo Monastery and Overnight at Hotel.
Day 11: Xigatse - Shakya (4280m/150km)
Drive to Shakya and visit Shakya Monastery is one of the Tibet's most impressive man made sights and one of the largest monastery and Overnight at Hotel.
Day 12: Shakya - Xegar (4050m/140km)
After breakfast drive to Xegar and Overnight at Hotel
Day 13: Xegar - Rongbuk (5000m/100km).
After breakfast drive to Rongbuk and visit Monastery and Everest Base Camp(5200m/8km) by horse cart or drive back to Rongbuk and Overnight at Guest house.
Day 14: Rongbuk - Gyirong (2300m/240km)
After breakfast Continue drive to Gyirong via Lalung la pass and Pikutso Lake.
Day 15: Gyirong - Kathmandu (1300m/156km)
After breakfast drive to the Friendship bridge at Nepal/Tibet border and meet Nepali guide and drive to Kathmandu via Syabrubesi and Trisuli Bazaar.

Trek Gear List: No need to bring unnecessary trekking equipment with you for Tsedang Samye Tour. The following trekking equipment and gears are recommended before Tsedang Samye Tour. Most of the trekking equipment what you will need can be rented or purchased  in Nepal either in Kathmandu or Lhasa at cheap price. We will help you with the necessary arrangements. Except your day pack all the luggage will be carried by porters. There is an allowance of 15 kg per person. Additional personal items not needed for the trekking part of the trip can be stored in the storage room of hotel without extra cost.
