TIBET

Tibet, the land of snows, the Roof of the world: For centuries the Mysterious Buddhist territory of Tibet. It is located at the highest elevation with its extraordinary natural beauty. Tibet is without doubt one of the most remarkable destination that is surrounded by great snow capped mountains, fabulous monastery sights, 100 years of old caravan trails cross the mysterious terrain through veiled valleys to exotic cities all inhabited by the friendly Tibetan Buddhists. The Tibetan autonomous region is also the land of the traditional culture, its arts and monasteries. Tibet is the perfect destination for spiritual traditions, temples and monasteries, lakes and rivers, and mighty snow clad peaks are just a few of the intoxicating wonders to be experienced by adventurous travelers who get the opportunity to visit this land.

Buddhism, with a history of some 1,350 years is shaped into a unique form of "Lamaism". Tibetan history, culture and religion are mixed together and penetrate every aspect of social life. Tibetan religious arts have a distinctive style with acceptance of Chinese and Indian Buddhist influence, hence forming a precious thing of Oriental Buddhist art. Most of the people who live on the Tibetan plateau, such as Tibetans, Monpas, Lhopas and Moslems, each have their own unique of traditions of marriage, dead ceremonies and many more. Festivals in Tibet are providing many opportunities for great and exciting celebrations. So move toward and visit a mysterious land, rich in mountains, monks and adventure.

Tibet at a Glance

Tibet is one of the most isolated regions in the world. It is located at the centre of Asia with a population about 6.3 million people. This ancient trading centre having an average altitude of 4,000m (13,120ft) above sea level. Possessing more than fifty peaks above7,000m (22,960ft), Tibet is home to eleven Himalayan mountains over 8,000m (26,240ft). China, India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Burma and Kashmir are all border countries of Tibet. Over six million people inhabit this land of rich natural resources and ancient cultures.

Some necessary Info about Tibet

TTB Permit & Chinese visa:
We would like to request you to submit us the following passport information at least 15 days before tour departure for Visa and Permit Procedure and original passport must reach to our office in Kathmandu at least three days before tour departure.

Whether/temperature and Clothing
Normally in Tibet average temperature will be between 4-19 Celsius in the month of April through October. Basically in the trekking season, the night temperature in the mountain often falls below freezing. Thus, you are required to have sufficient warm clothes to save form extreme cold. Additional, it will be better to dress in layers that can be easily put on and off as required. It is often advisable to bring your raincoat because rain or snow can also occur sometimes.

Clothing and accessories recommended
- Down jacket or wind breaker
- Good walking boots or shoes
- Woolen shirts, pants, socks, pullover, hat gloves and scarves
- Thermal underwear, woolen or silk long sleeve tops and bottoms
- Medicine for common colds, headache, diarrhea & diamox against high altitude sickness
- Sun hat, sun lotion, sun glass torch light, pen knife etc...

Health and physical fitness
Health and physical fitness is a serous matter in human being. So it is necessary to be physically fit and healthy to participate on Tibet tour. Even if, there is no particular age limit guideline, child below 8 years or elderly people above 70 years or more are not requested to take participation. Further more, those who are sufferer of high blood pressure, heart problem or diabetic are not recommended for the trip.
