Saga dawa festival is one of the biggest
festivals of Mt. Kailash. Saga Dawa
festival held at the foot of Mt. Kailash
itself. This journey starts from
Kathmandu and Adventure overland tour to
Tibet. Participants must be in good
physical shape to undertake this
challenging trip that includes overland
drives, camping and rest house stays
coupled with stunning scenery and “Kora”
(circumbulation) of the holy mountain,
Kailash.
This Saga Dawa festival has been
celebrated by the Tibetan Buddhists for
past thousand years or so. Just to take
part in the festival is enough
experience that provides us unlimited
excitement and unforgettable memory last
forever.
18- May 2013: Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu airport, meet one of our tour leaders and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
19- May 2013: Day 2: Tibet permit/visa preparation day. Half day sightseeing around Kathmandu.
20- May 2013: Day 3: Drive to Kodari boarder. Cross Friendship Bridge and drive to Nyalam for Distance158km, Altitude 3700m. Overnight at Guest house.
21- May 2013: Day 4: Rest at Nyalam for acclimatization. / Overnight at Guest house
22- May 2013: Day 5: Drive to New Dongba /Distance 356km, Altitude 4600m Overnight at Guest house or camping.
23- May 2013: Day 6: Drive to Manasarovar Distance 280km, Altitude 4588m Overnight at Guest house or camp.
24- May 2013: Day 7: Drive to Darchen /Distance 45km, Altitude 4700m/ Overnight at Guest house or camping.
25th May 2013: Day 8: Drive to Darchen and Attend to the Saga Dawa at Tarboche – Full moon.
26th May 2013: Day 9: Start to the Kora, night camp at Dira Puk - Camping
27th May 2013: Day 10: Continue Parikarma over Dolma La Pass & Zutul Puk - Camping
28th May 2013: Day 11: End Parikarma & Drive from Darchen to Dongba. Camp or Guest House
29th May 2013: Day 12: Drive from Dongba to Nyalam, night at guest house
30th May 2013: Day 13: Drive from Nyalam to Kathmandu
31st- May 2013: Day 14: Final transfer to fly back home.
