Saga dawa festival is one of the biggest
festivals of Mt. Kailash. Saga Dawa
festival held at the foot of Mt. Kailash
itself. This journey starts from
Kathmandu and Adventure overland tour to
Tibet. Participants must be in good
physical shape to undertake this
challenging trip that includes overland
drives, camping and rest house stays
coupled with stunning scenery and “Kora”
(circumbulation) of the holy mountain,
Kailash.
This Saga Dawa festival has been
celebrated by the Tibetan Buddhists for
past thousand years or so. Just to take
part in the festival is enough
experience that provides us unlimited
excitement and unforgettable memory last
forever.
Saga Dawa Festival tour itinerary
Day 01:
Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to
your Hotel (18 May 2010 or any date that
you admire)
Day 02:
Tibet visa preparation day/ you will
be free on your own.
Day 03:
Kathmandu--Nyalam (3750m) 185km.
Guest house on full board basis.
Day 04:
Drive to Saga (4600m) 280km. Camp on
full board basis.
Day 05:
Drive to Paryang (4750m) 235km. Camp
on full board basis.
Day 06:
Drive to Lake Mansaorvar (4572m)
230km. Camp on full board basis.
Day 07:
Drive to Tarboche (4660m) 25km. Camp
on full board basis.
Day 08:
Visit Saga Dawa festival. Camp (27th
May 2010)
Day 09:
Trek begins to Dira Phuk (5010m)
18km. Camp on full board basis.
Day 10:
Trek to Dorma La (5200m) 15km. Camp
on full board basis.
Day 11:
Trek to Darchen (4660m) 18km and
drive to Lake Mansarovar (4572m) 20km.
Camp on full board basis.
Day 12:
Drive to Paryang (4750m) 230km. Camp
on full board basis.
Day 13:
Drive to Saga (4600m) 235km. Camp on
full board basis.
Day 14:
Drive to Nyalam (3750m) 280km. Guest
house on full board basis.
Day 15:
Drive from Nyalam to Kathmandu.
