Mission Eco Trek starts your tour / trek
to Tibet with a spectacular flight over
the snow capped Himalayan Mountains Mt.
Kanchenjunga (8586m/ 28,169ft), Mt.
Everest (8848m/ 29.028ft), Mt. Makalu
(8463m/ 27,766ft) and others. Your tour
leader will take you to visit the Potala
the monumental palace of Kings and Dalai
Lamas, with its numerous chapels. The
view of the Lhasa city from the roofs is
unforgettable.
Tour to the Sera and Drepung monasteries
which were amidst the largest monastic
institutions in the world.
The Chorten tombs of three Dalai Lamas
are sited at Drepung. Sera are one of
the best-preserved monasteries in Tibet.
Driving tour past the beautiful
Turquoise Lake on the way to the
historic town of Gyantse with its unique
multi-storied Kumbum Stupa. At Shigatse
walk tour through the massive
Tashilungpo monastery and visit the
memorial 'Chorten' of the late Panchen
Lama. At the high plains of Old Tingri
meet up with the trek crew and start
trekking to North Everest Base Camp. The
trek will take you up the historic
expedition route from Old Tingri to
Rongbuk Monastery crossing the Langma La
pass (16,900 ft). Later hike up to the
North Everest Base Camp and explore the
Rongbuk glacier set directly below the
massive north-face of Mount Everest.

Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Arrival you will be received by tour
manager and escorted to your hotel in
kathmandu. Our tour manager will give
you pre-tour briefing. Rest of time is
leisure.
Day 02 : Kathmandu
After breakfast, visit monkey temple (Swayambhunath
Temple), Patan, Baudda sputa and
Pasupati temple. Over night at Hotel.
Day 03 : Flight Kathmandu - Lhasa
Drive to Airport for the flight from
Kathmandu to Lhasa on Air China. This
one hour thirty minutes Trans Himalayan
Flight will give you an opportunity to
have an aerial view of the Mt. Everest
and other Himalayan Peaks. Arrival at
Gonggar airport around 14.00 hrs. Local
time. After clearing immigration and
customs it will be a two hour drive to
cover the 93 km. to Lhasa which is
situated at an altitude of 3670 meters.
Upon arrival we check in at the hotel,
right in the heart of the old city.
Days 04/05/06 Sightseeing
During these three days in Lhasa we
visit the Potala palace, Sera and
Drepung monasteries, the Norbulinka
palace and Jokhang temple including the
surrounding Barkhor.
Day 07 : Lhasa - Gyantse
You begin your overland adventure with a
full day drive to Gyantse. Along the way
you cross the Kamba la (4794m) and the
Karo la pass (5010m), both grant
spectacular views. After the Kamba la
you come to Yamdrok tso, also known as
the Turquoise Lake. Altitude 3900m.
Day 08 : Gyantse - Shigatse
In the morning visit Gyantse stupa and
monastery followed by a two hour drive
to Shigatse. Here see the enormous
Buddha in the famous Tashilumpo
monastery. The seat of the Panchen Lama.
Altitude 3800m.
Day 09 : Shigatse - Lhatse
The journey today brings you over two
high passes with fine views. For lunch
we stop in the small town of Lhatse.
Depending on how much time we spend
during the morning in Shigatse we might
stay overnight in Lhatse. Altitude 4350
m.
Day 10 : Lhatse - Rombuk
Begins with the Tsho La (4500m) and ends
with the spectacular view of Mt. Everest
from Rombuk monastery. Relax tonight and
stroll around the monastery. Altitude
5050m.
Day 11 : Rombuk - Lao Tingri
Get up early in the morning and start
the two and half hour leisurely walk
(one way) to the base-camp (5200m)
itself. You should return early
afternoon to head to Lao Tingri. Lao
Tingri is a small Tibetan town that
offers the best view even from a toilet
that you’re unable to experience from
anywhere in the world. Altitude 4200 m.
Day 12 : Lao Tingri - Zhangmu -
Kathmandu
Make sure you have some photos left for
the panoramic view of the Himalayan
range as you cross the Lalung la pass
(5050m). In the evening relax in
Kathmandu.
