Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek |
|
Ghorepani Ghandruk Trekking is
considered to be the most famous and
popular trekking trail in Annapurna
region. Ghorepani Ghandruk trekking is
very familiar trekking with the
magnificent Himalayan view sighted from
the top of Poon Hill. Ghorepani Ghandruk
trekking, through the lowland villages
and mountain communities will expose you
to the variety of cultures of the Gurung
and Thakali people. On Ghorepani
Ghandruk trek Poon Hill is also one of
the best view points for superb
Panoramic Himalaya, including
Machhapuchhre, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

Itinerary
Day 01 : Trek Pokhara-Dhampus (1650 m)
After breakfast, we drive 45 min to Suikhet Phedi (1130m),
the trek start point. The trail goes steep up hill all the
way to village Astam. Follow the ridge west through the
Henjakot & comes to Dhampus, from where one can have a
closer view of Mt. Machhapuchre & Annapurna South.
Day 02 : Dhampus-Landrung (1646 m)
The trail ascend up gradually for an hour through the dense
forest of Rhododendron & Orchid to Deurali (2160 m), then
descend steep and gradually for another an hour to reach
Ghatte Khola for lunch. Then continue the slope downhill to
Landrung (1646m), a large Gurung Village situated above the
Modi River for overnight at Guest House..
Day 03 : Landrung-Ghandrung (1951 m)
The trail goes steep down all the way to Modi river, then
climb steep uphill nearly two hours through the terraced
fields to Ghandrung (1951 m), this picturesque town of
slate-roofed houses surrounded by terraced fields is a
pleasant place for the night halt. This is a huge Gurung
village, with the good humour and friendliness. The lodges
in this village are well known for the great Gurung
hospitality. The headquarters of Annapurna Conversation
Center, is also situated in this village, looks after the
management of the lodges. This village is beautifully set in
front Annapurna South & Himchuli (6441 m).
Day 04 : Ghandrung –Tadapani (2855 m)
The trail goes all the way gradually for about four hours
through the forest of different species of trees &
rhododendrons to Tadapani, a small village in the middle of
the forest.
Day 05 : Tadapani to Ghorepani(2800m)
The first part of the trek goes steep down hill nearly 40
minutes to stream, then it goes all the way steep uphill to
Ghorepani (via Banthati/Deurali) through Scotish pine and
Rhododendron forest. One feels oneself in Scotland while
trekking on these parts.
Day 06 : Ghorepani to Tikhedhunga(1500 m)
At 5.00 early in the morning, we do mini poonhill
expedition.
The trail goes all the way steep down hill to Tikhedhunga
(via Nangethati/ Banthati/ Ulleri)
Day 07 : Tikhedhunga to pokhara( 800m)
Nearly three and half hours walking down hill to Nayapul,
and drive back to Pokhara (1.30 hours)
