Upper Dolpa Trek

Upper Dolpo Trekking is the one of the most remote and least developed area in Nepal. Although some geographers had explored this beautiful Trekking region. This trekking area was opened in 1989 but the some southern part of Dolpo was already opened to organized trekking groups.

Dolpo trekking region situated between the Tibetan plateau and the Dhaulagiri Himalayan range is the highest inhabited land of Dolpo. Geographically a southern extension of Tibet, it lies within the borders of the state of Nepal, since 1984 has been the countries largest national park and conservation, the park sustains an abundance of wild life including Musk Deer, Himalayan Blue Sheep and the legendary elusive Snow Leopard, as well as being home to a fascinating race of Tibetan speaking people. The hardy highlanders of Dolpo are traders, exchanging barley for Tibetan rock salt and they take their yaks onto the Tibetan plateau during the summer for grazing.

We Start wonderful Upper Dolpo Trekking form Jhupal village, During this wonderful Trekking, we will encounter interesting places, Local people, villages, valleys and serene forest of pines, oaks and rhododendron. The trek will passes many enormous mountain ranges and over the Numala pass at 5,500m till we reach the Phoksundo Lake at Ringmo village in the "Phoksundo National Park".

The highlight of our Trekking, we will have two nights here to enjoy the beauty of the deep blue waters of the Phoksundo lake and the surrounding snow peaks of Kanjirowa Himalayan range with time to visit the nearby isolated village of Ringmo and its Monastery.

Upper Dolpo Trek Itinerary

Day 01 : Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by Mission Eco Trek’s Airport Representative, and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02:
Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley (Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square). Overnight at hotel.

Day 03:
Fly to Nepalgunj - hotel.

Day 04:
Fly to Juphal (Dopla) Camp in Dunai.

Day 05:
Dunai - Hankhe (11 Km) 5 hours Trekking. Overnight in tent.

Day 06:
Hankhe - Reiji, Five hours trekking. Overnight in tents.

Day 07:
Reiji - Phoksundo Lake 3600m. 5 hour trekking. Overnight in tents.

Day 08:
Phoksundo - Rest day/explore She Phoksundo. Overnight in tents.

Day 09:
Phoksundo Lake-Lake beach 5 hour Trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 10:
Lake Beach - Mandala Camp 4,570m. 5 hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 11:
Mandala Camp - Kang La (5,240m) pass - Shey Gompa (4280m.) 6 hours trek. O.N.T

Day 12:
Shey Gompa - Saldang pass (5010m) - Namgung 4,380m. Hours trek. O.N. T

Day 13:
Namgung-Yanger Gompa (3890m) 6 hours trekking. Overnight in tents.

Day 14:
Yanger Gompa-Musi Gaon (4270m.) 6 hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 15:
Musi Gaon - Lnag La (5002m) - Sime Gaon (3950m) 6 hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 16:
Sime Gaon - Tinja (4150m) 6 hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 17:
Tinja - Kheng (4550m) 6 hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 18:
Kheng - Charka pass (5,036m) -Charka (4365m) 7 hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 19:
Charka -Yak Kharka (4780m) 5 hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 20:
Yak Kharka - Sangda pass (5490m) - Sangda phedi (5110m) 07 hours trek. O.N.T

Day 21:
Sangda phedi - Sangda (3909m) 5 hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 22:
Sangda - Phale Gaon (2900m) 5 and half hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 23:
Phale Gaon - Jomsom (2710m) 3 and half hour trek. Overnight in tents.

Day 24:
Fly from Jomsom - Pokhara. Overnight hotel.

Day 25:
Fly or drive to Kathmandu.

Day 26:
Free day, Relaxing or shopping with own activities than in the evening farewell dinner in Nepalese Restaurant, overnight at Hotel.

Day 27:
Relaxing and shopping with own activities. Mission Eco Trek & Expedition’s representative will drop to airport for onward Flight.
